CINCINNATI, June 13 (UPI) -- The fleet of vehicles available to campus police at the University of Cincinnati includes a Volkswagen beetle striped in ladybug colors.

The Bug, as it's known, has ladybug decals on the doors that say "Bug me for information," the Cincinnati Enquirer reported Tuesday. The white car has had black and red stripes added.

Student Affairs and Safety Vice President Mitchel Livingston came up with the idea six years ago to make students more comfortable with campus police.

The Bug could also be a test of officers' self-confidence.

"You have to be kind of comfortable with yourself," said Capt. Karen Patterson.

Doug Barge, a 6-foot, 4-inch, officer is one of the guys Patterson describes as not "100 percent happy" with the Bug. But he appears to have a soft spot for it.

"Hey, it beats walking," he said. "And it does get people talking."
