Advertisement A day full of Hell-related events were planned in the town in southeast Michigan, including live music and entertainment. Ice cream cones were priced at 66 cents, while pizzas were available for $6.66, the Ann Arbor (Mich.) News reported. The number 666 is referred to as "the number of the beast," or Satan, in the Bible's Book of Revelations 13:18, and some believers expect the antichrist to appear on that date to begin Armageddon. However, Mayor John Colone isn't one of those believers. He runs the town's souvenir shop, and said T-shirts and coffee mugs, were on sale along with signed certificates verifying the purchase came from Hell on June 6, 2006. Advertisement "We're not evil -- we're just taking advantage of an excuse to have fun," Colone said. Monkeys make good listeners VITEBSK, Belarus, June 6 (UPI) -- Young girls and middle-aged men flock to a Belarus zoo to tell their deepest secrets and desires to -- long-tailed monkeys. People are apparently lured by the monkeys in Vitebsk, because the primates speak no evil -- no matter what they are told in the zoo's special "psychological relief room," Interfax reported Tuesday. "Anyone can come into the room where the monkey family lives and tell them of their troubles and problems," Zoo Director Zhanetta Kochenovskaya said. "You can whine, tell your secrets and even cry out loud." She said the most frequent visitors are young girls and men going through mid-life crises. Woman turns 66 on 6-6-06 BISMARK, N.D., June 6 (UPI) -- A Bismark, N.D., woman who was the sixth born of six siblings and has her own family of six celebrated her "ultimate golden birthday" Tuesday. Thelma Morrison turned 66 on the notorious date of 6-6-06, the Bismark (N.D.) Tribune reported Tuesday. Although the Bible connects the numbers 666 with the devil, Morrison harbors no superstitions about her birthday -- in fact, she considers it her lucky day, the newspaper said. I'm healthy physically, mentally and emotionally." 8-mile World Cup scarf decks German town UNNA, Germany, June 6 (UPI) -- Soccer fans love team scarves, and a German town has created the biggest-ever in time for this month's World Cup revelry -- an 8-mile-long hand-knitted one. The scarf now draped around the town of Unna's main square was knitted by more than 1,000 people who were advised to use the national colors of all 32 participating countries "creatively," the BBC reported. Several hundred towns in Germany participated, as well as knitters in France and Hungary. The scarf was the July 2005 brainchild of 60-year-old Elfie Blees of Unna, which is near Dortmund, the report said. Dortmund is one of the 12 sites in German that will be the site of World Cup games After the tournament, Blees said she would like to cut the scarf into 1-yard lengths and sell them for about $13 to raise money for German youth sports organizations. The town is also seeking an entry in the Guinness Book of Records for the world's longest scarf, the report said.
