ATLANTA, June 4 (UPI) -- The whale shark population at Atlanta's Georgia Aquarium has doubled with the introduction of two female whale sharks from Taiwan.

The $300 million aquarium -- the world's largest -- received the two female whale sharks Saturday night, to join two juvenile males already living there.

The females -- Alice and Trixie -- will join their male counterparts, Ralph and Norton, in the aquarium's main 6.2 million gallon tank. The sharks' names were all taken from characters on the classic TV comedy "The Honeymooners."

Whale sharks are the largest fish in the world, but are also a threatened species in many parts of the world. There has been talk of possible breeding, but shark scientist Robert Hueter told the Journal-Constitution that breeding was years off due to the males' sexual immaturity.
