PHILADELPHIA, April 27 (UPI) -- A Philadelphia man faces criminal charges for allegedly hiring a crane to move six newsstands belonging to others to corners where he applied for licenses.

Ofatai King, who also goes by the names John King and Fatai O. King, applied for 42 newsstand licenses on April 1, Licenses & Inspections Commissioner Robert Solvibile told the Philadelphia Daily News. None have been approved yet.

The six newsstands King allegedly had transported did have licenses to do business at the locations where they were placed. They also had merchandise locked inside belonging to the rightful owners, including candy, magazines and cigarettes.

"That's stealing," Solvibile said. "I believe he knew exactly what he was doing. And now he'll have to pay the price."
