Student graffiti evolves onto Internet

LOS ANGELES, March 23 (UPI) -- Where U.S. students used to mock teachers and principals with graffiti on washroom walls, they're now doing it with fake Web pages with altered photographs.

Much of the mischief is coming from the Myspace.com Web site, where students have figured out how to use it to tease, insult or impersonate principals and teachers by creating imposter sites in minutes.

In California, nine Orange County school administrators have been faked recently, and school staff now search the site routinely for imposter pages.

Anybody can create a page without giving personal details or a valid e-mail address, and the site's terms of use prohibit nudity and lewd content, but not false information, the Orange County Register reported.

There are about 200 pages claiming to belong to actress Lindsay Lohan, and President George Bush has about 50 pages.
