MOUNT PLEASANT, Mich., Jan. 23 (UPI) -- Central Michigan University administrators are unhappy but say there is nothing they can do about a new calendar featuring bikini-clad students.

The sexually charged "Girls of Central Michigan 2006" calendar features a dozen currently enrolled female students, including two swimsuit-clad women embracing on the cover, the Grand Rapids Press reported.

The wall calendar has no link to the university beyond the students who produced it and are featured in its pages, CMU spokesman Steven Smith said.

"We do not feel that this kind of publication serves the university well or the students," he told the newspaper.

Smith said the university has no legal recourse because the calendar does not refer specifically to the school.

The calendar went on sale near campus Jan. 9 and sells for $10, with 10 percent of gross sales going to aid Hurricane Katrina survivors. Hundreds have been sold to students, alumni and even a couple of marketing professors, one of the calendar's student founders said.
