WAUKESHA, Wis., Jan. 12 (UPI) -- Though some grumble about a Las Vegas look, the Milwaukee area's famous 22-foot-tall neon tavern sign is returning to the Wisconsin horizon.

The massive sign showing the flashing image of liquor pouring from a bottle into a shot glass, used to sit beside the National Liquor Bar before it closed. Now, it will reappear outside the renowned Heaven City Restaurant down the road in suburban Vernon after the Waukesha County Board of Adjustment unanimously approved the move.

"This will be one of those destination art pieces people will want to come and see," Town Supervisor Glenn Fieber told the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel.

"It's an old, old sign that has some history behind it," board member Walter Tarmann said.

Under restrictions approved by the county, the sign must be placed so it shines away from nearby homes and it's lights out by 10 p.m. Other restrictions may come later.
