LINCOLN, Neb., Dec. 21 (UPI) -- A Nebraska fisherman snapped photos to prove his fish tale of the two-mouthed rainbow trout he caught during a weekend fishing trip at Holmes Lake.

"I reached down and grabbed it to take the hook out and that's when I noticed that the hook was in the upper mouth and there was another jaw protruding out below," Clarence Olberding told the Lincoln (Neb.) Journal Star.

Olberding said it was a first in his 40 years of fishing.

Don Gabelhouse of the Nebraska Games and Parks Commission agreed, and said the two-mouthed fish most likely was caused by a genetic deformity.

The rainbow with a second, non-functional mouth came from northeast Nebraska and originated at an unnamed Wyoming location, gaming officials said.

Olberding said he has no plans to mount the catch.

"I'm going to smoke it up and eat it," he told the newspaper.
