The airline gave pilots and flight attendants two months to meet weight guidelines. Advertisement Air India spokesman Prasad Rao said increasing competition means its flight crews must look trim and fit, not sloppy and inefficient. "This directive is not something surprising or new," Rao said. "Airlines worldwide follow similar guidelines in fitness. Imagine if crew members can't fasten their seat belts, how can they fly?"
