BOSTON, Dec. 15 (UPI) -- A Massachusetts judge has a standing order for all jurors -- dress right.

Judge Raymond Brassard instructs men to wear a tie. Women have a little more leeway, with the judge telling them only to dress appropriately.

The Boston Globe reports many jurors ignore Brassard's orders. Last week a jury with three men heard the dress code. The next day, two showed up in ties.

Brassard said he only tells jurors once to wear ties and dress appropriately.

"I don't pester them about it," he said.

Brassard said he believes juries should dress as though they know a trial is a serious business.
