DARWIN, Australia, Dec. 7 (UPI) -- An Australian crocodile farmer is dabbling in urban politics, saying plans by Darwin officials to open a downtown crocodile theme park won't attract tourists.
Apart from his doubts about economic viability, Graeme Webb says it's also unfair. In a speech to the city's Development Consent Authority, he said the site would be better off exhibiting sea turtles, the Australian Broadcasting Corp., reported.
The proposal he's fighting would see the croc park built in the same block as part of a new underground nightclub complex on Darwin's main tourist street in the Northern Territory.
Webb, who also conducts tours on his rural site, said the reptiles already get sufficient attention.
"I don't think we can get much more advertising on crocs," he said.
