Soup kitchen offers first-class food

SALAMANCA, N.Y., Nov. 19 (UPI) -- Since the Seneca Allegany Casino opened in Salamanca, N.Y., people eating at the soup kitchen have doubled, but not because of down-on-their-luck gamblers.

Even since the casino opened about a year ago, those living in city of Salamanca have been visiting the Lighthouse, the local soup kitchen more often because of the good food, the Buffalo (N.Y.) News reported Saturday.

The soup kitchen now offers prime rib, shrimp and other assorted delicacies, all brought over daily from the casino's kitchens.

Many in Salamanca rank the soup kitchen as the second-best place to eat -- after the casino.
