LOS ANGELES, Nov. 18 (UPI) -- A Los Angeles taxi driver found $350,000 worth of cut diamonds in the backseat of his cab and tracked down his forgetful passenger to return them.

Driver Heider Sediqi, 40, discovered the bag Wednesday after transporting a man from the Millennium Biltmore Hotel to the Los Angeles International Airport, the Los Angeles Times reported Friday.

Sediqi remembered thinking "unbelievable" when he saw 100 diamonds the bag.

The father of two with a pregnant wife -- a self-described "hard worker" -- told the Times his dream is to own a restaurant some day. But on Wednesday, his first and only thought was: "How am I going to catch that guy?"

He found a cell phone in the bag and called the number, asking: "Did you leave anything?"

"Oh, my God," said the voice, who turned out to be New York jewelry businessman Eric Austein -- still waiting for his flight at the airport.

Sediqi rushed back to the LAX and Austein met him at the airport police station for the grateful return.
