CAMDEN, England, Nov. 11 (UPI) -- A high-tech trap set up by a computer science graduate in Britain helped nab the thief who returned to his apartment for the second time.

After the thief took a laptop computer and other items from his place in Camden in July, Richard East knew the thief would return.

As soon as the thief kicked open the door of East's bedroom, a secret video camera went to work, beaming pictures of the thief to East's laptop, reports The Times of London.

Terry Payne, who had recently been released from prison, was arrested four days later. He admitted in court to robbing East's apartment.

Police said the 28-year-old thief had even pulled the sleeves of his shirt over his hands to avoid leaving fingerprints. But he forgot to cover his face.

East knew the thief would return because without the power cables he had left behind the first time, he wouldn't be able to pawn the stolen items.
