BOCA RATON, Fla., Oct. 19 (UPI) -- Sixteen mass media university students in Florida are auctioning their cheeks as advertising space for one week to learn about marketing.

The "Cheek for a Week" campaign by the students at the private Lynn University in Boca Raton emphatically states on the eBay online auction site the cheeks are of the facial variety, the Palm Beach Post reported.

Bidding starts at $750 and, although no bids had been made by Tuesday, Professor Nick Ravo said several people are watching the auction and will likely start bidding toward the Thursday deadline.

The students decided in advance not to accept ads for politics, tobacco, firearms and religion, and decided to donate the proceeds to the charity Americans for African Adoptions.

Ravo said part of what the students are learning is how difficult it can be to get the media's attention for their project.

"They're very upset that Oprah is not calling them right back," he said.
