MANCHESTER, England, Oct. 15 (UPI) -- Residents of Manchester, England, are being told to keep a lookout for a loose 6-foot boa constrictor that might visit via the toilet.

A Manchester man found the snake curled up inside a lavatory bowl and placed a concrete block on top of the seat lid to keep the snake from escaping, the Daily Telegraph Saturday.

However, by the time firefighters and officials of the Royal Society for the Protection Against the Cruelty to Animals got to the home, the snake was gone. Officials think the snake escaped via the sewer system so they have warned residents to keep an eye out.

"We would advise people to keep their toilet lids down and check before using the bathroom," said Donna Holt of the RSPCA.
