BEIJING, Sept. 17 (UPI) -- The Chinese government hopes to teach its citizens how to mind their manners in time for the 2008 Summer Olympics.

Major areas for etiquette training include habits like spitting or urinating in public that visitors might find distasteful, aggressive driving and ignoring lines, the Los Angeles Times reported.

Some people think it's a lost cause, even with three years to campaign.

"I think they're already too late for the Olympics," Zhu Wei, manager of the Shanghai Boni Housekeeping Service. "They should have started 20 years ago."

He uses English butlers as trainers.

The government is using an array of media to get its message across, including billboards.
