HARBOR CITY, Calif., Sept. 13 (UPI) -- Professional gator wranglers from Florida return to Harbor City, Calif., this week to try to capture an elusive 6- to 7-foot, 100-pound alligator named Reggie.

Two San Pedro, Calif., men, Todd Natow and Anthony Brewer, have been charged with conspiring to dump Reggie into Machado Lake earlier this summer.

While professionals from Florida's Gatorland failed to find the adult gator in four days of searching earlier, they are returning this week to hopefully find and capture the wily gator.

"He's still popping up at night," Ron Berkowitz of Harbor City's parks and recreation department told the Torrance (Calif.) Daily Breeze.

Last week, local firefighters found and captured a much smaller gator in the lake, which authorities said may have also been dumped by one of the men already charged.
