German Anarchist campaign ad causes stir

BERLIN, Sept. 7 (UPI) -- An already censored political ad in Germany is causing a stir across the country ahead of the upcoming election.

Every official political party in Germany is given television slots for campaign ads.

Deutsche Welle reports the German Anarchist Pogo Party's ad featuring alcohol and drugs, half-naked people at a party and eating dog food is meeting resistance.

The censored ad ran for the first time Monday is a censored version of the original from the party with a stated goal of "humankind's complete and ultimate return to stupidity."

It has sparked a controversy and discussion in German newspapers, television and on the Internet.

The ad is not expected affect the outcome of the Sept. 18 election as the Anarchist Party's membership is about 750.
