The state anatomical board voted against allowing the display to open, the Bradenton (Fla.) Herald reported Thursday. But it was unclear it that decision would be enforced and Tampa's Museum of Science and Industry may give the public a look before Saturday's scheduled premier. Advertisement A legal challenge is likely by either or both parties, the newspaper said, with the display supporters fighting the state's regulation on use of cadavers for education and others about whether the exhibit is appropriate in how it deals with dead human bodies. "Bodies, The Exhibition" is being put on at the museum by Premier Exhibition Inc. The Herald said the 14,000-square-foot display includes 20 skinless preserved bodies and 260 body parts. Some of the bodies are posed in activities such as running. Preserved organs include a lung affected by cancer, a heart after a heart attack and a tiny fetus from an ectopic pregnancy.
