CHICAGO, Aug. 15 (UPI) -- Thieves stole all of Frank Scott Jr.'s 200 keys, but the Chicago Blues musician is all keyed up to go again, thanks to donations from his fans.

The original keys, which Scott had strung together on a chain and shook like a musical instrument, were stolen last month. But after news of the theft, the public responded generously with new keys, reports the Chicago Sun-Times.

"I'm back in business,'' Scott said.

Scott now has so many keys he has made an extra set of what he calls Blues Percussive House Keys that anyone can use to play along when he performs, the report said.

The former drummer stopped playing blues when his hand grew too arthritic to hold his sticks. So he started jingling his keys during jams and the instrument was born, the newspaper said.
