CHICAGO, July 27 (UPI) -- A Minneapolis man is waging an Internet crusade against Federated Department Stores' name change of Marshall Field's, Chicago's most recognizable retailer.

Nick Potts launched KeepItFields.org because he said Federated's decision to "erase" Marshall Field's name "is nothing short of criminal," the Chicago Sun-Times reported Wednesday.

Potts may not be alone. An editor for a separate Web log, known as Chicagoist, said he found it interesting that young people who frequent the site were passionate about keeping the Field's name.

"We're not just talking about changing the name of a minimart," he said. "This will be taking away a part of Chicago's history."
