BURLINGTON, Ohio, June 26 (UPI) -- The mayor of Rabbit Hash, Ohio, was trailed by a crew from "Animal Planet" as he worked the crowd at a fundraiser for a proposed dogpark in Boone County.

"Junior," as the mayor is known in the tiny town along the Ohio River, arrived at England Idlewild Park Saturday in a giant red, white and blue recreational vehicle, the Cincinnati Enquirer reported Sunday.

He emerged from the RV wearing an American flag bandana, walked past the cheering crowds and sniffed a dog's behind.

Junior is a black Lab.

He was "elected" mayor of Rabbit Hash in November. Voters paid $1 to vote, with the money going to a local church.

"Junior is a good dog and a good public servant," former Cincinnati Bengal Max Montoya, a Boone County resident who is helping raise money for the park, told the newspaper.

Junior will be featured in a one-hour special titled "A Day in the Life of a Mayor" that will likely air on "Animal Planet" this fall.
