GLOCESTER, R.I., May 30 (UPI) -- A reality show's championship fight last week resulted in the arrest of a Rhode Island man accused of taking explicit pictures of minors.

The show "The Contender" telecast the fight in Las Vegas, but what two Rhode Island state police detectives saw in the audience was more riveting than the fight itself, the Providence (R.I.) Journal reported Monday.

While watching the program, the detectives spotted Paul Iannuzzi of Glocester, R.I., in the audience. He had been arrested in April for allegedly taking explicit photographs of a minor, but was free pending arraignment. However, out-of-state travel is typically restricted for suspects free on bail, the Journal said.

Iannuzzi had apparently ignored that provision and traveled to Las Vegas to see Providence native Peter Manfredo Jr. fight for the TV show's $1-million prize. Officers arrested him the following day after he returned home.

Troopers charged him with resisting arrest, simple assault, and destroying state property after he became combative with officers and kicked a dent in a police cruiser's door, officials said.
