Dad resists police in bid to see daughter graduate

CINCINNATI, May 24 (UPI) -- A Cincinnati man late for his daughter's high school graduation failed to stop his carfor police, crashed, and then fled on foot only to be finally arrested.

Police Tuesday said Michael Lester was driving without a license and about 25 miles per hour above the speed limit when an officer began pursuit, WLWT-TV, Cincinnati reported. His car subsequently crashed into the side of a home. He then ran away, allegedly in an attempt to attend his daughter's commencement.

Instead, Lester was apprehended and jailed while the graduation ceremony was held.
