LONDON, April 28 (UPI) -- An 11-year-old soccer player in a London park shooting for the goal with a penalty kick hit the Prince of Wales instead.

Peter Roberts yelled "Good save" as Prince Charles turned after feeling the ball bounce off his back, the Times of London reports. One of the royal protection officers kicked the ball back to the pitch.

The prince and the Duchess of Cornwall were in Regent's Park in central London to open a new sports pavilion.

"I much enjoyed meeting some of the children who have been dragged in especially for their football skills," the prince said in his speech. "I did think their accuracy needs to be improved."

The royal couple, making one of their first public appearances since their marriage early this month, were protected from a driving rain by large umbrellas.
