GARY, Ind., April 25 (UPI) -- The Gary, Ind., owner of a missing 200-pound replica of the Statue of Liberty has offered a reward for the massive sculpture's return.

Larry Swetkey said thieves removed the bolts keeping his 10-foot-tall brown and gray aluminum lady liberty captive to a concrete pad, the Indianapolis Star reported Monday.

Swetkey, who paid $3,800 for the statue, said he is offering a $500 reward for the recovery of the hefty symbol of freedom -- which features a light that comes on when it's dark out -- and information leading to the arrest of the thieves.

He said the mini-behemoth was taken Friday night or Saturday morning.

"Who would do something like that?" he asked. "It would take at least two or three people to carry it. It took two of us to install it. It probably took them half an hour to do it."
