STOCKHOLM, Sweden, April 20 (UPI) -- A Swedish woman has received a postcard from her sister nearly 41 years after the card was mailed, newspaper Aftenposten reported.

Brit By said she was confused to receive a postcard from Narvik, Norway, until she remembered her sister, Eldbjorg, visited the city in 1964.

"And it was Eldbjorg that wrote it," she said. "I couldn't believe my eyes. The postcard Eldbjorg wrote and posted on July 5, 1964, arrived on April 18, 2005, nearly 41 years later," By said.

By said Eldbjorg could not remember writing the unpunctual postcard, but the family hopes to discover what took the card so long to arrive.

"It would be fun to find out what really happened with it," said By's husband, Andreas. "If anyone in the postal service has any idea about how we can find out, we would be very grateful."
