DOUGLAS, Ariz., April 17 (UPI) -- Denny's, the restaurant chain, has apologized to the U.S. Border Patrol for an insulting receipt accidentally given to a border agent with his sandwich.

The receipt, typed into a cash register by the restaurant's shift manager in Douglas, Ariz., described the order as for the "Border Ass Whole," reported the Washington Times Sunday. It was meant for the cook, but was accidently given to the customer.

The agent described the incident in an e-mail sent to several fellow agents and some contacted the city's newspaper, the Douglas Dispatch,

Meanwhile, Border Patrol Chief Michael Nicely, who heads the 450 agents of the agency's Tucson sector, complained to Denny's corporate management.

The shift manager, whose name has not been made public, has been fired. Denny's corporate headquarter's officials described the manager as a "rogue" employee, and said the nationwide restaurant chain "supports and welcomes all border patrol personnel and their families."
