SAN FRANCISCO, April 13 (UPI) -- NBC Universal will pay San Francisco $103,000 for defacing dozens of sidewalks to promote its television series "The 4400."
The city spent $4,000 scrubbing off the stenciled messages, which read, "The 4400 are coming," the San Francisco Chronicle reported.
The city attorney's office spent about $3,000 investigating the incident.
NBC agreed to cover those costs and pay $96,000 to the San Francisco Clean City Coalition.
