LONDON, April 2 (UPI) -- Many of Britain's 2 million people over the age of 50 who divorced between 1998 and 2000 are looking for love via the Internet.

In fact, in a survey by Friends Reunited Dating, a sister Web site of Friends Reunited, found most singles over the age of 50 say they are still looking for the "loves of their lives," despite already having been married at least once.

Many of the respondents -- 300 women and 200 men aged 50 to 70 -- said they believe that their 50s were the best time to look for a partner, the Daily Telegraph reported Saturday.

Almost half of the survey respondents said they were looking for "fun," after being divorced or widowed, but the other half said they were looking for marriage. However, whether for fun or marriage most were looking for respect, civility and gentleness, according to the survey.

Fifty-four percent of men and women said they consider kindness to be the most important factor when looking for a date, according to Friends Reunited Dating.
