New flight attendant soon to turn 70

KILGORE, Texas, March 14 (UPI) -- Six months into her new job as a flight attendant, a 69-year-old Texas woman claims she is very much like most younger women.

Sanny Sue Holland-Hoffman told the Chicago Sun-Times most of her friends have already retired, but she decided on her third career back in 2002. She used the Internet to do research, and applied to New Jersey-based NetJets, a charter airline partially owned by billionaire investor Warren Buffett. She was hired last fall.

"I have a lot of energy and a Type A personality, so I need to stay busy," she said. "I was at a point in my life when I wanted to do something exciting again."

Just weeks ago on Valentine's Day, the mother of three remarried.

Previously, she was a teacher specializing in early-childhood education and was also an executive at a private educational company.

"I'm just beginning a new career, and I have a new husband," Holland-Hoffman said. "I'm like a lot of young women."


Anti-underwear bill introduced in Florida

TALLAHASSEE, Fla., March 14 (UPI) -- A Florida legislator known as a spiffy dresser has introduced a bill making it against the law to expose underpants in a public place.

The maximum penalty would be 10 days in jail under the bill introduced by state Sen. Gary Siplin, the Tampa Tribune reported Monday.

"We have to change the way men, especially young men, dress," the Orlando Democrat said. "It may not go anywhere. I may not push it. But I had to file something."

Siplin, well-known at the state Capitol in Tallahassee for his sartorial standards, said he gets frequent complaints from parents about young men who wear their trousers below waist level.

"I had an Afro when I was growing up," he said. "We had some things. But showing your underwear? That doesn't look good. That ain't cool."

A similar bill was passed by the Virginia House last month, but killed in a Senate committee.


Man charged with two Laundromat exposures

MADISON, Wis., March 14 (UPI) -- A Wisconsin man has been charged with indecent exposure for allegedly disrobing in public laundromats, The Smoking Gun reported Monday.

The Circuit Court misdemeanor complaint alleges Robin McCain exposed himself to a female patron at the King Koin Laundromat in January. He allegedly told her "he was doing a nudist experiment that his friends told him to do."

Police said McCain disrobed a second time at a Willy Wash Laundromat in an incident that was caught on a surveillance camera. McCain admitted to the video taped incident -- telling cops it was a "statement about personal freedom and not sexuality" -- but denied involvement in the other.

McCain had previously pleaded guilty to four counts of exposing himself to a child. He faces up to four years in jail if convicted of both incidents.
