Officer leaves loaded gun on candy machine

ALLEN PARK, Mich., Feb. 22 (UPI) -- A high-ranking Allen Park, Mich., police officer has been accused of leaving his loaded service revolver on the top of a police department candy machine.

The gun was discovered by a city employee.

It's the second time the unidentified officer has been accused of leaving his gun unattended this year, reported WDIV-TV in Detroit Tuesday.

Earlier in the year, the officer left a loaded weapon in his car with the motor running in the driveway of a friend. A passerby stole the car with the weapon. That weapon was never recovered.
