LONDON, Feb. 16 (UPI) -- While the engagement ring Britain's Prince Charles gave Camilla Parker Bowles is worth almost $1 million, royal fans can soon buy a replica for $35.

The U.S.-owned Asda supermarket chain announced the rings will be available at 195 of its British stores that have jewelry counters April 8, when Charles and Camilla marry in a London civil ceremony.

The real ring was made in the 1920s and features 8 carats of diamonds, while the knock-offs will be sterling silver with a manmade cubic zircon, The Times of London said.

"The ring has gone down very well with the public," an Asda spokesman said. "We have had a lot of requests for copies and our jewelry buyers have been able to come up with a bargain."

For more serious royal-wannabes, the chain is also accepting orders for an upscale copy of the ring for $55,000. Those rings are made of platinum and have 4.8 carats of diamonds.

The spokesman said that makes it the most expensive item sold in the supermarket.
