Elvis impersonator faces harassment arrest

LONDON, Feb. 14 (UPI) -- An Elvis Presley impersonator faces arrest in Britain for an alleged Internet harassment campaign on a rival Elvis impersonator.

Louis Rockafella said his bookings evaporated after a Web site listed him under "amateur acts" and provided links that attacked his singing and outfits, the Mirror reported Monday.

The Web site in question also named Steve Preston as the country's top Elvis act.

Rockafella and his wife, who is also his manager, did some detective work and they allege the Web site is the work of Preston.

Rockafella's lawyers have sent Preston letters threatening to sue him for defamation and malicious falsehood. Preston has promised to remove the Web site material, but so far it appears he is in no rush.

"If undertakings are not given or the behavior recurs, he will be placed under arrest," said a police spokesman.

Man with amnesia to be reunited with family

BOSTON, Feb. 14 (UPI) -- A man suffering from amnesia after being thrown from a car and left on a Boston street may soon be reunited with his brother.

Omar Beidari was found by his brother via a national cable TV show, the Boston Herald reported Monday.

Beidari, who had been hospitalized in Boston and then taken care of by strangers, learned from his older brother in North Carolina that he is 21, came from Africa, was studying to become a veterinarian and is a good basketball player.

The brother said he last saw Beidari Jan. 8.

"The last thing he told me was that he was going by bus to visit a friend in Washington, D.C., for two days, but he never came back," said Maliki Hamani Beidari. "I was so scared for him, but I was also scared to go to the police because I didn't want to get my brother in any trouble."

It's still a mystery how the amnesic ended up in Boston.

Prom magazine pulled for porn Web site URL

NEW YORK, Feb. 14 (UPI) -- Two U.S. magazines that focus on high school proms accidentally published a child-porn Web site address in an advertisement for Studio 17.

Fairchild Publications said it would removed some 200,000 copies of YM's Your Prom edition from newsstands after an advertiser, Studio 17, mistakenly printed a child-porn Web site address in two of its six ad pages, Mediaweek reported Monday.

However, an estimated 75 percent of the issue had already been sold.

"As a publisher that reaches teens with this special prom issue, not to mention as a mother, we are taking swift action to take all the remaining issues off the newsstand to prevent teenagers from unwittingly being exposed to a Web site that contains pornographic material," said Mary Berner, president of Fairchild.

However, Hearst Magazines said it would not pull any of its 600,000 copies of Teen Prom from newsstands, although the publication also carried the Studio 17 ad pages.

"This was a mistake on the advertiser's behalf -- in fact, the error also appeared in their own catalogue," said a spokeswoman for Hearst. "This is a very unfortunate situation and, quite simply, the result of human error."
