Okumura, wearing a long-hair wig, allegedly took the items into a changing room, where he hid them under his coat. He exited the store without paying and drove off, an investigator said.

Since Okumura wasn't wearing any makeup and was acting strangely, a security guard who realized he was a man followed him and took note of the license plate of his vehicle.

After confirmation from the store that the underwear was missing, the guard reported the incident to the police, who tracked down Okumura. He confessed to the allegations against him when questioned over the theft.
