RICHMOND, Texas, Feb. 9 (UPI) -- A Texas woman has been sentenced to 80 years in prison for her role in killing her mother in a dispute over household chores, the Houston Chronicle reported.

Brenda Trejos, 30, was sentenced Tuesday for the disappearance and slaying of her 43-year-old mother in 1994.

Trejos and her husband, Frank Trejos, both initially confessed to killing the woman because of her insistence they help with housework and outdoor chores at the mother's home.

The daughter later recanted her confession and pleaded innocent, but lost at trial.

Her husband is still awaiting trial, the newspaper said.

The mother's body has never been found.
