Lance Tyms, 43, apparently thought he could save time by having his fifth grade son drive the family's second car home from a Grand Rapids hospital where the boy's mother had been admitted. He could be given up to 90 days in jail, the Grand Rapids Press said. The boy, who was not injured, was not charged.
