BUCHAREST, Romania, Jan. 14 (UPI) -- A Romanian couple who met and courted online decided to honor the Internet when their son was born so they named him Yahoo.

Daily Libertea reports the Christmas baby's full name is Lucian Yahoo Dragoman.

"We named him Lucian Yahoo after my father and the Net, the main beacon of my life," his mother, Cornelia Dragoman, told the newspaper.

Nonu Dragoman and his wife both lived in Transylvania, the Romanian region best-known to the outside world as the homeland of Count Dracula. But they were first introduced to each other electronically and decided they wanted a closer relationship after three months of communicating via the Internet.

They picked Yahoo for their son's name because it is one of the best-known portals.
