EDMONTON, Alberta, Dec. 30 (UPI) -- A suitcase and plastic bag left at a bank in Edmonton, Canada, set off a bomb scare but was found to contain only war medals.
Police said an elderly woman entered the Canadian Western Bank, put down the packages, told a bystander that police would know what to do with it, and then left, the Canadian Broadcasting Corp. reported Thursday.
Officers ordered a dozen people to leave the building and sealed off a block along the street.
The bomb squad blasted the packages with a water cannon only to find a collection of memorabilia, including four war medals inside a tin box.
Inspector Dan Jones said police want to speak with the woman, whose identity isn't known. He stressed the incident isn't considered to be a criminal matter.
