Backward slur leads to false report charge

INDEPENDENCE, Mo., Dec. 28 (UPI) -- An Independence, Mo., man's attack claim was foiled by the evidence, police said -- the words burnt into his forehead and chest were backward.

Floyd Elliot, 22, was charged Monday with filing a false police report.

Elliot told police he was attacked by two men who burned the word "FAG" onto his chest and forehead, the Independence Examiner reported Tuesday.

But, police were suspicious because "GAF" was what was actually burned onto the alleged victim.

During interviews, Elliot finally admitted he did the burning himself because he wanted more police in his neighborhood.
