PENSACOLA BEACH, Fla., Dec. 21 (UPI) -- A Spanish man vacationing in Pensacola Beach, Fla., drove his rental car more than 20 feet into a Subway sandwich shop in a Monday night accident.

Moments after the man asked for directions to the beach, he walked out of a Florida restaurant, and drove his late model, white Lincoln Town Car as it jumped the curb in front of the Subway store and blasted through a wall, the Pensacola (Fla.) News Journal reported Tuesday.

"It sounded like a bomb went off," said Tyler Sage, who was working behind the counter of the Subway. "So I look up and see all this glass and this car come flying through. And it just kept going. It was the craziest thing I've ever seen."

The car pinned an unsuspecting customer in a booth where she was eating. She had to be cut loose by firefighters, but the woman was not seriously injured.

The driver's name was not immediately made public. Neither the driver, nor his two passengers, was injured.
