TOKYO, Dec. 9 (UPI) -- In Japan Thursday three thieves took a bag containing about $1.4 million in cash from a car they had just rammed with their vehicle.
According to police, the incident happened just before noon in the town of Kawaguchi in Saitama prefecture, directly north of Tokyo, Mainichi Shimbun reported.
After ramming the rear of a vehicle driven by a 58-year-old man, three men got out of their car. The three broke a window on the rammed vehicle and sprayed tear gas at the driver.
The bandits then grabbed a bag in the car and drove away. The driver claimed the bag contained the cash he had just withdrawn from a bank on behalf of a pinball parlor.
Later the vehicle that hit the victim's car was found abandoned nearby. It apparently was a stolen car.
