ALBUQUERQUE, Dec. 8 (UPI) -- A truck driver and his wife, on their way to Arkansas, halted in Albuquerque, N.M., that turned into a $1 million windfall stop for the couple.

Jimmie Dale Palmer and his wife, Laurie, made history Tuesday at the Route 66 Casino where the husband won $1 million.

Palmer, 42, who played a penny slot machine, is the first million-dollar jackpot winner at Route 66 Casino.

The Palmers, both drivers, live in their yellow Freightliner semi as they move around the country.

"I had just said to my wife 'I'd like to hit the Millioni$er jackpot just once.' I had no idea ...," he said. "I haven't been able to eat ... it's excitement and nerves."

Palmer won his million-dollar jackpot after just 40 minutes of play.

The couple has five children, four of whom live in California and one in Texas.

Although the Palmers travel, they most

likely will make a few purchases with the winnings. The couple is interested in

buying some land in Oklahoma and a Harley.
