KENT, Wash., Nov. 30 (UPI) -- The death of suburban Seattle man this week was ruled an accident that was caused by an exploding lava lamp.

Kent police said late Monday the victim was apparently killed by a glass shard that struck him in the heart after he apparently decided to heat the lamp up on his stove for reasons that remain a mystery.
