KINGSTON, Mass., Oct. 8 (UPI) -- Police in Massachusetts say that a teenage McDonald's worker left hundreds of exotic roaches above the restaurant in a box with his name and address on the label.

The 16-year-old, who has not been identified because of his age, faces several charges, including bringing pests into the state and possession of a chemical or biological delivery system, the South Boston Enterprise reports.

The food court at the Independence Mall in Kingston, southeast of Boston, was closed down for a day in September after the insects were discovered. The box was found by McDonald's employees who became curious because the teenage suspect had been throwing bread into the storage area through a hole in the ceiling.

The box proved to contain Hawaiian lobster roaches supplied by a breeder in Arizona. After the roaches were exterminated, police found more than 600 corpses.
