HARRISBURG, Pa., Sept. 14 (UPI) -- Paul J. Goudy, of Lemoyne, Pa., was sentenced to 23 months on probation after pleading guilty to theft by unlawful taking a man's hairpiece.

An alleged accomplice, Matthew G. Flinchbaugh, of Wormleysburg, Pa., is still awaiting court action, the Harrisburg (Pa.) Patriot-News reported.

Last January, Edward Floyd, of Harrisburg, Pa., was sitting at a Harrisburg restaurant when witnesses said Goudy ripped the hairpiece and a gold chain off Floyd.

Restaurant witnesses identified Goudy and when questioned by police he told them that on a dare, Flinchbaugh had offered him $100 to steal Floyd's hairpiece.

Dauphin County Judge Richard A. Lewis also fined Goudy $500 and ordered him to write a letter of apology to Floyd.

"Don't these guys have anything better to do than to rob and humiliate someone for absolutely no reason in the world? It's just outrageous," Floyd said. "I'm a nice guy. I don't bother anybody."

Meanwhile, Floyd is considering a civil lawsuit.
