The Canadian Broadcasting Corp. reported Tuesday the town's 1,200 residents abandoned Kitsault in 1982 after the area's molybdenum mine was closed. Advertisement Kitsault, now owned by the Phelps Dodge Corp., a copper company, is selling for $5.4 million. Included in the sale are: a shopping mall; seven apartment buildings; 92 homes; a hospital; two recreational centers with a pool, hot tub, racquetball courts, library, theater, curling rink and bar. A real estate agent said an U.S. company has expressed interest in the property.
