KALAMAZOO, Mich., Sept. 3 (UPI) -- The title of an off-Broadway play got a reporter from Western Michigan University's student radio station ejected from the Republican convention.
Dan Jones, a correspondant for WIDR-FM, the student-run radio station at the Kalamazoo, Mich., university, said he was thrown out after convention security found "I'm Gonna Kill the President" handwritten on his itinerary.
"I'm Gonna Kill the President -- A Federal Offense," is the title of a farce about terrorism that Jones said he was planning on attending while in New York City.
Jones, 23, said he was questioned for about three hours Tuesday by Secret Service agents after security spied the note on his schedule.
"They asked about my personal background, my family, where I've lived, where I went to school, careers and then a more serious series of personal questions. Have I ever been to a mosque?" Jones told the Kalamazoo Gazette.
"They actually asked me how I felt about Sept. 11, and how I felt about the Madrid bombings."
Jones' media credentials were taken and he was barred from re-entering the convention.
He said he spent the remainder of the week covering outside events, such as the protests.
No word on whether or not he made it to the show.
