FREDRIKSTAD, Norway, Aug. 9 (UPI) -- An alleged thief in Fredrikstad, Norway, used a wheelbarrow to take haul off stolen goods when the car he tried to steal wouldn't start.

The newspaper Fredriksstad Blad reported Monday that the 38-year-old suspect broke into a house close to where he lived.

After a neighbor spotted the suspect leaving the rental unit with a filled wheelbarrow he called the homeowner, who attempted to chase the burglar, Aftenposten reported.

"I threw on my wife's bathrobe and, with my neighbor, took chase by car. But despite checking local streets and yards we couldn't find the thief," the homeowner told the Fredriksstad Blad. "He used the wheelbarrow when he couldn't start the car he broke into and loaded."

The homeowner said the thief didn't seem to be in much of a hurry because he ate prawns and drank beer as well as turned on the lights and played music.

Police made an arrest after finding the wheelbarrow in a nearby yard.
